A rubber mounting bumper needs a secure relationship with the component that holds it. Its flexible contact face may be the visible feature, but the locating shoulder, hole or pocket beneath that face determines whether the bumper stays in its intended position. This product can be reviewed for a custom equipment or appliance assembly where the mounting interface must match an existing design.
Show the retaining feature in section and identify the direction from which the bumper is inserted. Include the available access behind the panel and any lip that must pass through an opening. A feature that can be fitted easily before enclosure assembly may be difficult to service afterward. If the part is held in a pocket, specify the surrounding clearance and whether the rubber is allowed to expand sideways during contact.
The catalog offers custom dimensions, material, hardness and color. ETOL can use the assembly information to discuss a profile that combines the required contact shape with a practical retention feature. The insertion force and retention behavior should be assessed on representative mating parts. Neither a very tight fit nor excessive compression should be used to compensate for an undefined mounting geometry.
During a sample installation, check the rubber mounting bumper from both sides of the locating feature where access permits. Look for a folded shoulder, incomplete seating or damage caused by an unfinished hole. Exercise the normal contact action and confirm that the part does not walk out of its position. For maintenance, inspect the retaining area as well as the exposed face; an intact-looking pad can still be loose underneath. Include the fitting sequence with the custom inquiry so that the design review covers installation, working contact and eventual replacement within the available access.
Photos illustrate structure or material only. The flexible contact face may be the visible feature, but the locating shoulder, hole or pocket beneath that face determines whether the bumper stays in its intended position. ETOL directly manufactures custom-shaped silicone and rubber parts to your requirements.
FIND THE RIGHT FIT
Choose hemispherical, tapered or recessed rubber feet and compare the mounting dimensions. All values are in millimeters. Use the drawing labels for each product; a dash marks a dimension not supplied in the source.
12 sizes for recessed rubber feet, including flat and rounded bases. The Base column identifies the lower-edge style. C is recess depth; the appearance rendering shows a rounded-base example.
