Product Overview

A rubber multi-entry grommet with four holes can provide separate passages within one custom panel interface. Each hole should match its intended routed component, while the outer retaining profile suits the cutout and supporting thickness. This arrangement needs the cable positions and the shared grommet body to be developed together.

Plan the route for all four entries before fitting. A cable with a large connector or a tight bend may affect the assembly sequence and pull on the common rubber body. Check that the spacing between passages leaves the intended supporting material without requiring one hole to be stretched toward a neighboring route.

Install the grommet into a clean cutout with burrs or splinters removed. Then inspect the retaining perimeter after all cables are routed. A seat that was secure with one cable can move when the remaining routes are connected. Use suitable separate cable supports where needed so the panel interface is not expected to absorb unintended pulling loads.

Choose the finished compound for the environment and cable contact. Where sealing is required, assess the complete arrangement, including any unused hole. During service, inspect the material between passages and the points where cables change direction. Replace damaged parts with the correct hole layout rather than enlarging openings in an uncontrolled way or forcing a different set of cables through the same profile.

Material options
Custom rubber compound and color, selected for the contact conditions and required geometry.
Hardness range
30–90 Shore A for rubber. Assess the grade against this fit requirement: Check that the spacing between passages leaves the intended supporting material without requiring one hole to be stretched toward a neighboring route.
Custom profile & fit
Each hole should match its intended routed component, while the outer retaining profile suits the cutout and supporting thickness.
Assembly considerations

Round Grommet Size Catalog

Choose a profile to compare part numbers and dimensions. Inch and metric sizes are listed in separate tables.

Type D Round Grommets in Inches

274 entries for Type D round through-hole grommets. Original fractions are retained, and exactly equivalent standard inch fractions replace decimal values where possible. Other values remain decimal inches.

Ordering this custom component

Can the shape be adjusted to my mating parts?

Yes. Show the receiving opening, contact surfaces and clearance limits. We can review the dimensions and retaining features around the intended fit.

Which details should be agreed before tooling?

Agree the critical dimensions, material, hardness, visible surfaces and sample requirements. Explain how the part is installed and which interfaces control its function.

Can a sample help define the replacement?

A sample can help explain the structure. Compare it with the assembly because wear, swelling or compression may have changed its original dimensions.

How is the quotation for this part determined?

The material, part geometry, tooling, quantity and finishing affect the quotation. Include the intended batch size and delivery destination when describing your requirements.
