A square rubber grommet plug closes a panel opening that needs a shaped insert rather than a round stopper. The rubber body can be customized in size, hardness, and color to match the receiving part. Its fit depends on the square opening as a complete profile, including the corners and the thickness of the surrounding wall.
Corner shape is particularly important. A cutout with rounded corners needs a corresponding plug profile, even when its overall width matches another square opening. The retaining edge should sit evenly along all four sides without bunching at a corner or bowing the middle of the plug.
Use the plug where a closed opening is required in the intended assembly. Before fitting, remove burrs and check the depth available behind the panel. Press the part into position gradually, then inspect each corner for incomplete seating. If the opening later becomes a cable entry, select a part designed for that passage instead of assuming that an improvised cut will preserve the original fit.
Photos illustrate structure or material appearance only. A cutout with rounded corners needs a corresponding plug profile, even when its overall width matches another square opening. ETOL directly manufactures custom-shaped silicone and rubber parts to your requirements.
