Product Overview
A square rubber grommet should match the side lengths and corner shape of the receiving opening. Its silicone profile needs to engage around the whole perimeter without stretching a corner to compensate for an incorrect cutout. A plug configuration closes the center, while an open version requires a passage selected for the component going through it.
Check panel thickness and clearance behind each side of the seat. The corners may reveal a mismatch before the straight edges do, so inspect their radii and finished condition closely. Select the compound for the actual temperature and exposure at the opening.
Orient the grommet before pressing the retaining region into place. Keep any closed center intact and inspect hidden corners where access allows. During service, replace a torn retaining edge rather than trimming it to make the front appear flush. If the opening changes function, fit the appropriate designed passage or blanking version so the entire square seat retains its intended contact.
