Product Overview

An elastic prototype keypad without silk printing allows the molded key arrangement to be evaluated before printed legends are part of the sample. This version can support mechanical fit and operating-feel review, provided the prototype is compared with the intended housing and contact arrangement.

Develop the silicone or rubber geometry around the actual enclosure openings, key positions and available movement. Keep the prototype configuration identifiable so the absence of printed functions does not lead to confusion about which key operates which contact during evaluation.

Check the assembled panel for clearance, return and neighboring-key movement. Use realistic input sequences rather than examining only individual buttons, and record any geometry changes against the corresponding prototype configuration. The unprinted surface does not establish how final legends or a selected coating will appear or wear.

Before finalizing the production version, evaluate the relevant finished surface and marking construction together with the mechanical design. During handling, keep the contact side clean and avoid making untracked cuts to improve local fit. A modified sample should remain distinguishable from the intended molded geometry so a temporary adjustment is not mistaken for the production configuration.

Material options
Silicone. Custom formulation and color for the intended contact conditions.
Hardness selection
Silicone: 20–80 Shore A. Check the assembled panel for clearance, return and neighboring-key movement.
Custom dimensions
Develop the silicone or rubber geometry around the actual enclosure openings, key positions and available movement.
Fit & assembly
During handling, keep the contact side clean and avoid making untracked cuts to improve local fit.
Use & inspection
The unprinted surface does not establish how final legends or a selected coating will appear or wear.

Ordering this custom component

Can the shape be adjusted to my mating parts?

Yes. Show the receiving opening, contact surfaces and clearance limits. We can review the dimensions and retaining features around the intended fit.

Which details should be agreed before tooling?

Agree the critical dimensions, material, hardness, visible surfaces and sample requirements. Explain how the part is installed and which interfaces control its function.

Can a sample help define the replacement?

A sample can help explain the structure. Compare it with the assembly because wear, swelling or compression may have changed its original dimensions.

How is the quotation for this part determined?

The material, part geometry, tooling, quantity and finishing affect the quotation. Include the intended batch size and delivery destination when describing your requirements.
