A silicone grommet for electrical wire provides a rubber interface where the wire crosses a hard opening. Its purpose at that location is to keep the jacket within the protected passage, with the retained profile matched to the surrounding panel rather than loosely resting against it.
Develop the dimensions using the finished wire and opening. Include any local covering on the cable and the effective panel thickness after coating. Select the compound for the conditions at the entry; the electrical context does not establish a particular dielectric rating for an unspecified formulation.
Inspect the fitted grommet after the wire reaches its final support. Check that the jacket has not slipped beneath a flange and that the panel edge remains covered at the actual contact point. During maintenance, reassess that point if the route changes. A replacement should match the selected geometry and material, and the opening should be prepared before fitting so burrs do not cut the new rubber from behind.

The purpose at that location is to keep the jacket within the protected passage, with the retained profile matched to the surrounding panel rather than loosely resting against it. ETOL directly manufactures custom-shaped silicone and rubber parts to your requirements.
