Rubber dust caps cover openings where a flexible closure is needed to limit exposure of the interior. The cap needs to match the feature it covers, including its seating depth and any surrounding recess. A cover that catches on the enclosure before reaching its intended position can leave an entry path despite appearing closed.
Identify the surfaces that retain the cap and those expected to exclude contamination. The fit around an outside rim differs from a plug inserted into a bore, so the mating dimensions should reflect the actual arrangement. Leave practical access for removal without repeatedly prying at a thin sealing edge.
Before closing, remove debris from both the cap and mating surface. Check that the perimeter is evenly engaged and that no folded section is trapped underneath. Any required waterproof performance must be evaluated on the complete closure under the intended exposure; the rubber material alone does not establish it. Inspect the working edge after repeated removal, especially where handling tends to concentrate force at one side of the cap.
Photos illustrate structure or material appearance only. The cap needs to match the feature it covers, including its seating depth and any surrounding recess. ETOL directly manufactures custom-shaped silicone and rubber parts to your requirements.
FIND THE RIGHT FIT
Choose a blind-hole, tapered, undercut or solid T-shaped profile, then compare its dimensions with the opening and available seating depth. Each profile has its own drawing and dimension meanings.
155 T-shaped plug sizes. Match shank diameter A, head diameter B, shank length C and head thickness D. E is the bottom blind-hole diameter; E = 0 indicates a solid shank.
