A rubber waterproof grommet combines cable-edge protection with a shaped interface intended for a sealing arrangement. Cable repositioning is an important inspection point because movement can disturb contact at the bore or partially lift the mounting lip from the panel.
Customize geometry, dimensions, material, hardness and color around the resting cable. Check its service positions too; restore the intended route after surrounding work is complete.
Before returning the assembly to use, let the cable settle into its intended route and examine the rubber perimeter. Remove particles carried into the entry and confirm that the groove is engaged. Where moisture exclusion is required, assess the actual cable jacket, mounting surface and expected exposure together. If rubbing has produced a groove in the bore, replace the affected part and correct the route or support that caused it. Tightening the cable against the worn side can hide the gap without restoring a consistent contact.
