Product Overview

Elastic silicone balls for a baby product need to be assessed in the shapes they can take during handling. The relaxed diameter does not describe a ball while it is squeezed, pulled or held against another part. Size and the complete molded construction must be selected for the intended users.

Define whether the chosen design has a solid body or a hollow wall before deciding its flexibility. Wall thickness and internal form can affect how the outside moves under pressure. Two balls that look alike at rest can therefore need different evaluation. Include any seams, openings or attached features in the assessment of the finished item.

Observe the representative product as it deforms and returns during its intended handling. Check whether an edge, joint or added feature changes position in a way the design has not allowed. Do not alter the ball by adding holes or decorations after its configuration has been assessed.

The silicone formulation must suit the actual contact and care conditions. Follow the finished product's cleaning method and remove a damaged item from use. Replacement should preserve the evaluated body construction as well as its external size and appearance.

Material options
Custom silicone or rubber formulation, with dimensions and color adapted to the mating component.
Hardness range
Silicone: 20–80 Shore A; rubber: 30–90 Shore A. Assess the grade against this fit requirement: Define whether the chosen design has a solid body or a hollow wall before deciding its flexibility.
Custom profile & fit
Include any seams, openings or attached features in the assessment of the finished item.
Assembly considerations
Check whether an edge, joint or added feature changes position in a way the design has not allowed.
Design check

Ordering this custom component

Can the shape be adjusted to my mating parts?

Yes. Show the receiving opening, contact surfaces and clearance limits. We can review the dimensions and retaining features around the intended fit.

Which details should be agreed before tooling?

Agree the critical dimensions, material, hardness, visible surfaces and sample requirements. Explain how the part is installed and which interfaces control its function.

Can a sample help define the replacement?

A sample can help explain the structure. Compare it with the assembly because wear, swelling or compression may have changed its original dimensions.

How is the quotation for this part determined?

The material, part geometry, tooling, quantity and finishing affect the quotation. Include the intended batch size and delivery destination when describing your requirements.
