Product Overview

A silicone elastomer numeric keypad can be custom developed for a particular number entry interface. Dimensions, color and identification can follow the device, with silk screen printing, embossed, debossed or color filled details available. Choose the marking method together with the key shape so the numbers remain understandable within the usable pressing area.

Check the numeric layout in the completed housing. Key centers should align with the underlying contacts, while the openings leave room for movement and release. Trial representative sequences, including repeated numbers and transitions to the outer keys, to assess the interface from the user's normal hand position.

Material hardness needs to be considered with the flexible geometry and supporting switch arrangement. A softer loose button does not automatically produce the intended response once the enclosure is secured. Check whether the housing introduces rubbing or a preloaded section of the sheet.

Select the finished formulation and marking process for handling and cleaning conditions. Keep the underside clean during assembly, and inspect frequently used key boundaries for damage during maintenance. If input changes, separate the checks for contact alignment, key travel and surface condition. The completed design determines its operating behavior; a generic lifetime or precision claim should not replace assessment of the actual keypad assembly.

Material options
Silicone. Custom formulation and color for the intended contact conditions.
Hardness selection
Silicone: 20–80 Shore A. Key centers should align with the underlying contacts, while the openings leave room for movement and release.
Custom dimensions
Trial representative sequences, including repeated numbers and transitions to the outer keys, to assess the interface from the user's normal hand position.
Fit & assembly
Material hardness needs to be considered with the flexible geometry and supporting switch arrangement.
Use & inspection
Keep the underside clean during assembly, and inspect frequently used key boundaries for damage during maintenance.

Ordering this custom component

Can the shape be adjusted to my mating parts?

Yes. Show the receiving opening, contact surfaces and clearance limits. We can review the dimensions and retaining features around the intended fit.

Which details should be agreed before tooling?

Agree the critical dimensions, material, hardness, visible surfaces and sample requirements. Explain how the part is installed and which interfaces control its function.

Can a sample help define the replacement?

A sample can help explain the structure. Compare it with the assembly because wear, swelling or compression may have changed its original dimensions.

How is the quotation for this part determined?

The material, part geometry, tooling, quantity and finishing affect the quotation. Include the intended batch size and delivery destination when describing your requirements.
