A silicone grommet can provide a cushioned interface where a cable passes through an opening in food related equipment. The selected silicone formulation should suit the actual contact conditions and cleaning process at that location. A component beside food handling does not necessarily experience the same exposure as one directly contacting the product.
Custom structure, dimensions, hardness and color allow the grommet to match the mounting panel and cable. Consider cleaning access around the flange and the possibility of residue collecting beneath an unsupported edge. The panel opening should be smooth and sound before the rubber is installed.
Check the complete entry with its actual cable jacket and supports. The grommet should remain seated without a crease that traps residue or exposes the rigid edge. Evaluate any sealing requirement separately on the finished assembly. During maintenance, inspect the contact areas directly when accessible rather than relying on the visible front face. If the cleaning process or handled product changes, review the compound and interface suitability before retaining the original configuration.
Photos illustrate structure or material only. A component beside food handling does not necessarily experience the same exposure as one directly contacting the product. ETOL directly manufactures custom-shaped silicone and rubber parts to your requirements.
