Product Overview

Custom silicone rubber buttons form the pressing surface of a membrane keypad switch assembly. The molded layout should align with the operating areas beneath it while fitting the enclosure openings above. Size, color, and marking methods can be selected to suit the control panel's arrangement and appearance.

The distance between the button underside and the underlying switch structure affects how a press is transmitted. Housing support, layer thickness, and assembly compression all contribute to that relationship. Evaluate the complete stack with the enclosure secured, because a loose button sample does not reproduce the same support conditions. Each moving section should have clearance to operate without the surrounding rubber shifting as a whole.

Legends can be printed, embossed, debossed, or colorfilled. Their location should remain aligned with the physical keys and their assigned functions after assembly. Include edge keys and presses near the accessible corners when assessing operation. Keep the underside clean during handling and avoid deposits around the visible key edges during cleaning. The final switch response should be checked in the completed panel, where the rubber and underlying layers operate together.

Material options
Silicone. Custom formulation and color for the intended contact conditions.
Hardness selection
Silicone: 20–80 Shore A. The final switch response should be checked in the completed panel, where the rubber and underlying layers operate together.
Custom dimensions
Each moving section should have clearance to operate without the surrounding rubber shifting as a whole.
Fit & assembly
Housing support, layer thickness, and assembly compression all contribute to that relationship.
Use & inspection
Keep the underside clean during handling and avoid deposits around the visible key edges during cleaning.

Ordering this custom component

Can the shape be adjusted to my mating parts?

Yes. Show the receiving opening, contact surfaces and clearance limits. We can review the dimensions and retaining features around the intended fit.

Which details should be agreed before tooling?

Agree the critical dimensions, material, hardness, visible surfaces and sample requirements. Explain how the part is installed and which interfaces control its function.

Can a sample help define the replacement?

A sample can help explain the structure. Compare it with the assembly because wear, swelling or compression may have changed its original dimensions.

How is the quotation for this part determined?

The material, part geometry, tooling, quantity and finishing affect the quotation. Include the intended batch size and delivery destination when describing your requirements.
