Product Overview

A custom silicone rubber keypad with conductive pills combines molded buttons with discrete contact elements on the underside. The pill positions should correspond to the circuit contact areas, while the visible keys align with the housing. The supporting sheet keeps those relationships consistent throughout the layout.

The housing and backing structure need to locate the rubber without stretching it. A small shift in the sheet can affect several contacts, even if the key tops still appear close to their openings. Check the final assembled position with the intended fasteners and supports, then assess each key's movement toward its corresponding contact.

Include presses near accessible edges and sequences that move between neighboring keys. A tilted key should remain within the motion expected by the contact design, and the surrounding sheet should not pull an adjacent button into action. The pills and circuit must be evaluated together for the required electrical behavior; the molded sheet alone does not define that response.

Printed, embossed, debossed, or colorfilled legends can be selected for the interface. Keep them coordinated with the electrical positions and installed orientation. Protect the pill surfaces from residue during assembly, and clean the exposed keypad without damaging its moving edges. Replacement should preserve the complete sheet outline and pill arrangement rather than only match the visible control labels.

Material options
Silicone. Custom formulation and color for the intended contact conditions.
Hardness selection
Silicone: 20–80 Shore A. The pills and circuit must be evaluated together for the required electrical behavior; the molded sheet alone does not define that response.
Custom dimensions
A small shift in the sheet can affect several contacts, even if the key tops still appear close to their openings.
Fit & assembly
Check the final assembled position with the intended fasteners and supports, then assess each key's movement toward its corresponding contact.
Use & inspection
Protect the pill surfaces from residue during assembly, and clean the exposed keypad without damaging its moving edges.

From part requirements to production

01

Define the part

Identify key dimensions, mating surfaces and quantity

02

Review material & tooling

Agree the compound and manufacturing approach

03

Evaluate the sample

Review the fit and agreed requirements in the assembly

04

Produce & inspect

Manufacture and check against the approved requirements

Review the intended assembly

Working conditions

Identify temperature, contact fluids and repeated movement.

Material and structure

Consider hardness together with wall thickness and support.

Installation

Check access, mating dimensions and the fitting sequence.

Ordering this custom component

Can the shape be adjusted to my mating parts?

Yes. Show the receiving opening, contact surfaces and clearance limits. We can review the dimensions and retaining features around the intended fit.

Which details should be agreed before tooling?

Agree the critical dimensions, material, hardness, visible surfaces and sample requirements. Explain how the part is installed and which interfaces control its function.

Can a sample help define the replacement?

A sample can help explain the structure. Compare it with the assembly because wear, swelling or compression may have changed its original dimensions.

How is the quotation for this part determined?

The material, part geometry, tooling, quantity and finishing affect the quotation. Include the intended batch size and delivery destination when describing your requirements.
