Silicone Seal Hole Plugs can be customized for openings that need a removable closure in a warm assembly. Select the silicone compound for the actual operating temperature, exposure duration and any contact with liquids. The required fit should be evaluated after the assembly has experienced its normal warming and cooling cycle.
The plug's shape, dimensions, hardness and color can be tailored to the opening. Consider the removal conditions as well as initial insertion. A plug fitted at room temperature may be handled later in a different dimensional or surface condition, so leave an appropriate accessible portion and establish the intended service method.
Check that the surrounding opening is smooth and that the body seats without folding. After representative use, inspect for permanent flattening or damage at the contact area. A plug that repeatedly becomes difficult to remove may need a revised fit or compound rather than more insertion force. Keep the mating surfaces clean before refitting, and assess any sealing requirement using the complete assembly under its intended exposure conditions.
Photos illustrate structure or material appearance only. The plug's shape, dimensions, hardness and color can be tailored to the opening. ETOL directly manufactures custom-shaped silicone and rubber parts to your requirements.
FIND THE RIGHT FIT
Choose a blind-hole, tapered, undercut or solid T-shaped profile, then compare its dimensions with the opening and available seating depth. Each profile has its own drawing and dimension meanings.
155 T-shaped plug sizes. Match shank diameter A, head diameter B, shank length C and head thickness D. E is the bottom blind-hole diameter; E = 0 indicates a solid shank.
