A soft silicone o ring can conform within a suitable sealing groove, but its flexibility also calls for careful handling during assembly. The ring should enter the groove without being rolled, nicked, or pushed into an unsupported gap. Choosing softness alone does not establish the right seal; the section size and closing geometry must provide the intended contact.
Measure the groove and mating clearance, then select the formulation for the actual medium and temperature. Where food contact is intended, assess the specific compound and finished ring for those conditions rather than treating all silicone rings as equivalent. Consider cleaning exposure as part of that selection.
Fit with smooth, compatible assembly aids where needed and avoid sharp tools against the ring. Check that the section remains seated before closing the joint. During removal, inspect for small cuts and areas pulled out of shape near the groove edge. A softer replacement should not be used to compensate for a damaged mating surface or an excessive closing gap that requires correction in the assembly.

Yes. Show the receiving opening, contact surfaces and clearance limits. We can review the dimensions and retaining features around the intended fit.
Agree the critical dimensions, material, hardness, visible surfaces and sample requirements. Explain how the part is installed and which interfaces control its function.
A sample can help explain the structure. Compare it with the assembly because wear, swelling or compression may have changed its original dimensions.
