A Standard Grommet gives a cable opening a rubber-lined edge without making the cable itself part of the panel fixing. This page covers ETOL's selection of conventional grommet forms, with options for material, hardness and color. The useful starting point is a profile that matches the panel and wiring arrangement consistently across a build.
For repeated assemblies, compare the smallest and largest expected cutouts as well as the nominal hole. A part that fits one prototype tightly may be difficult to seat across a batch of finished panels. The groove width needs similar attention when coatings or stacked panel layers change the effective thickness.
Keep the cable route in mind when choosing the center opening. A lead that leaves at an angle needs room to bend without lifting the flange, and a bundle should remain inside the protected passage rather than spreading over its rim.
During installation, press the rubber into the opening progressively instead of pushing the entire face through at once. Confirm that both retaining lips lie against the panel before routing the cable onward. This simple seating check helps preserve the intended edge coverage throughout assembly.
Photos illustrate structure or material only. The groove width needs similar attention when coatings or stacked panel layers change the effective thickness. ETOL directly manufactures custom-shaped silicone and rubber parts to your requirements.
