A cable seal grommet is selected around the panel opening and the cable surface at its contact point. Replacing the lead with a different version can change that fit even where the equipment connector remains the same. The jacket dimensions and profile deserve a direct comparison.
Check whether the new cable introduces a seam, added sleeve or different outer shape where it crosses the grommet. Compare the groove and panel seating as well so a change at the inner passage is not hidden by an apparently unchanged outer flange.
ETOL can tailor the structure, material and hardness to a defined cable-panel pairing. Any required seal needs assessment under the application's exposure conditions with the actual replacement cable installed.
Keep contact surfaces clean while routing and avoid twisting the rubber to accommodate an awkward approach angle. Inspect for folds around the jacket and displacement at the panel. If the cable cannot sit naturally in the approved route, review the replacement configuration before use. During later inspection, look for wear that changes contact around the lead rather than judging condition only from the front of the enclosure.
Photos illustrate structure or material only. A cable seal grommet is selected around the panel opening and the cable surface at its contact point. ETOL directly manufactures custom-shaped silicone and rubber parts to your requirements.
