A hemispherical silicone mount presents a curved exterior for a custom bumper or foot application. The diameter, height and base attachment should suit the mating component and the direction of contact. The rounded shape needs to be evaluated within the assembly rather than treated as equivalent to a flat pad of the same width.
Check where the opposing surface first meets the hemisphere. Off-center contact can load the side or push the mount laterally. The base should support the rubber appropriately while leaving room for its intended deformation. For foot use, assess how the complete supported item rests across all locations.
Choose the finished silicone formulation for the environment and cleaning method. Inspect the curved face for localized wear and the base for movement during maintenance. Keep grit away from the contact area. If the same side repeatedly rubs, review alignment before replacing the part. A larger hemisphere may change the contact position without correcting the underlying mismatch between the bumper and the surface it meets.
Photos illustrate structure or material only. The diameter, height and base attachment should suit the mating component and the direction of contact. ETOL directly manufactures custom-shaped silicone and rubber parts to your requirements.
FIND THE RIGHT FIT
Choose hemispherical, tapered or recessed rubber feet and compare the mounting dimensions. All values are in millimeters. Use the drawing labels for each product; a dash marks a dimension not supplied in the source.
12 sizes for recessed rubber feet, including flat and rounded bases. The Base column identifies the lower-edge style. C is recess depth; the appearance rendering shows a rounded-base example.
