Product Overview

Neoprene rubber bushings provide a compliant interface around wiring at a mounting opening. When the harness is taped or sleeved, the location of that outer wrapping can influence the fit. A bulky tape overlap beside the panel may push the rubber sideways or prevent the bore from settling around the bundle.

Coordinate the bushing position with the harness finishing process. Decide which portion of the bundle should occupy the bore and keep abrupt changes in wrapping thickness away from the contact region where possible. The mounting groove still needs to match the panel independently of the harness diameter.

Custom dimensions and colors are available, with the selected neoprene compound assessed for the actual installation conditions. Fit representative production harnesses rather than relying only on a smooth round gauge. After routing, inspect for a folded lip or a section of tape caught under the flange. If the harness requires rewrapping during maintenance, preserve the intended thickness near the entry and check the bushing again before closing the assembly. This keeps a small repair from creating a new fit problem.

Material options
Custom neoprene formulation; tailor the geometry and color to the required interface and exposure.
Hardness range
30–90 Shore A for rubber. Balance insertion flexibility with support around the opening. A bulky tape overlap beside the panel may push the rubber sideways or prevent the bore from settling around the bundle.
Custom profile & fit

Choose a profile to compare part numbers and dimensions. Inch and metric sizes are listed in separate tables.

Type D Round Grommets in Inches

274 entries for Type D round through-hole grommets. Original fractions are retained, and exactly equivalent standard inch fractions replace decimal values where possible. Other values remain decimal inches.

Ordering this custom component

Can the shape be adjusted to my mating parts?

Yes. Show the receiving opening, contact surfaces and clearance limits. We can review the dimensions and retaining features around the intended fit.

Which details should be agreed before tooling?

Agree the critical dimensions, material, hardness, visible surfaces and sample requirements. Explain how the part is installed and which interfaces control its function.

Can a sample help define the replacement?

A sample can help explain the structure. Compare it with the assembly because wear, swelling or compression may have changed its original dimensions.

How is the quotation for this part determined?

The material, part geometry, tooling, quantity and finishing affect the quotation. Include the intended batch size and delivery destination when describing your requirements.
