Selected for the contact, temperature and movement
Define the visible surfaces and intended color
Develop holes, lips and walls around the mating parts
Match the attachment and installation method
A silicone rubber lid covers a matching opening with a molded flexible component. To help exclude dust, its seating edge needs to stay clean and correctly engaged. Particles trapped at the rim can interfere with the contact even when the visible outer face appears closed.
Develop the lid or bottle cap around the actual mating profile, including any lip that the rubber must pass over. Silicone and butyl are distinct material configurations and should be selected for the contents, environment and cleaning routine. Custom dimensions, hardness and color can follow the intended use.
Before refitting, remove residue from both the lid and the opening with a compatible method. Seat the perimeter evenly rather than pushing one edge down while the opposite side remains raised. The assembly should be assessed for its required exposure; a dust-protection description does not establish a water or pressure rating. Inspect the hidden retained edge during service, especially if the lid is frequently pulled off from one side.
Photos illustrate structure or material appearance only. Develop the lid or bottle cap around the actual mating profile, including any lip that the rubber must pass over. ETOL directly manufactures custom-shaped silicone and rubber parts to your requirements.
FIND THE RIGHT FIT
Choose a blind-hole, tapered, undercut or solid T-shaped profile, then compare its dimensions with the opening and available seating depth. Each profile has its own drawing and dimension meanings.
155 T-shaped plug sizes. Match shank diameter A, head diameter B, shank length C and head thickness D. E is the bottom blind-hole diameter; E = 0 indicates a solid shank.
