A Firewall wire grommet provides a fitted passage for wiring through a barrier panel. The entry should accommodate the route on both sides without allowing the cable to lie against the opening's hard edge or pull the rubber out of its intended seat.
Plan the cable supports and connection sequence before the entry becomes difficult to reach. A lead that is secured tightly on one side may have too little movement left for a connector on the other. ETOL can customize the dimensions, material, hardness and color around the selected arrangement.
Choose the compound and completed barrier design for the actual operating exposure and required function. During assembly, position the rubber independently of the wiring tension, then check the panel contact after all connections are made. Keep nearby heat-producing or moving parts clear of the flange. When a harness is replaced, inspect the opening and grommet before pulling in the new lead. A damaged retaining lip can remain hidden while the visible side still appears finished, so inspect both faces wherever access permits.
Photos illustrate structure or material only. The entry should accommodate the route on both sides without allowing the cable to lie against the opening's hard edge or pull the rubber out of its intended seat. ETOL directly manufactures custom-shaped silicone and rubber parts to your requirements.
