A Neoprene rubber grommet places a flexible cushion between wiring and a panel opening. For an entry near a warm component, select the compound around the temperature at the rubber and the length of exposure, along with any nearby fluids or cleaning agents.
ETOL can customize the profile, dimensions, hardness and color. Give the mounting section enough engagement without holding the body in excessive stretch. Also check the cable approach: continuous side pressure against a warm edge can change the local contact conditions compared with a centered, relaxed lead.
Fit the part with the surrounding equipment cool and accessible. After the wiring is secured, check that the cable remains inside the bore and that no neighboring component presses against the flange. Include the expected operating conditions in the assembly evaluation. During later inspections, compare the rubber's seating with its original position and look for hardening or permanent deformation. Correct unwanted contact before replacing a damaged piece so a new grommet is not exposed to the same avoidable pressure point.
Photos illustrate structure or material only. Also check the cable approach: continuous side pressure against a warm edge can change the local contact conditions compared with a centered, relaxed lead. ETOL directly manufactures custom-shaped silicone and rubber parts to your requirements.
