A vibration damping rubber grommet sleeve introduces rubber between mating parts at a passage or mounting point. Its sleeve length and retaining geometry determine where the resilient contact occurs. ETOL offers custom dimensions, compounds and colors, with hardness choices available for the selected assembly.
Map the intended contact along the sleeve. A short section may provide protection at a local edge, while a longer section can extend the rubber interface through a thicker support. The mating component should remain located without forcing the sleeve into a permanent lean. Check the axial fit as well as the diameter.
For damping use, evaluate the loaded assembly. The rubber needs its designed room to deform, and surrounding metal features should not create an unintended rigid connection across it. Tightening hardware until the sleeve is crushed can change the very contact intended to provide compliance.
Choose the compound for the operating environment and assess the response under the actual equipment load and movement. During servicing, inspect the sleeve ends for wear and the retaining flanges for permanent flattening. If the assembly configuration changes, revisit the mounting fit rather than assuming the old grommet remains suitable. A replacement should preserve the supported length and contact relationships as well as its visible outside shape.
Photos illustrate structure or material only. A short section may provide protection at a local edge, while a longer section can extend the rubber interface through a thicker support. ETOL directly manufactures custom-shaped silicone and rubber parts to your requirements.
