A flat cable sealing rubber grommet is developed around a cable profile with broad faces and comparatively narrow edges. Its protective passage should follow that profile so the panel does not bear directly on the cable. ETOL customizes dimensions, material and color for this type of grommet.
Measure the cable in its natural shape. Squeezing it into a narrower opening can load its edges unevenly, while a passage that is too tall may leave clearance across the broad faces. For a sealing role, check the contact along the broad cable faces and narrow edges with the cable in its installed position.
Plan the route so the cable approaches the opening without a twist. A flat cable turned on edge can press against the rubber differently from the intended orientation, particularly near the exit. Allow its permitted bending space beyond the panel.
When installing, guide the cable through with its faces aligned to the passage. Do not use the grommet as a tool to flatten a folded cable. Inspect the narrow edges during service for concentrated rubbing, and correct the route if the cable has shifted away from the center of the opening.
Photos illustrate structure or material only. The protective passage should follow that profile so the panel does not bear directly on the cable. ETOL directly manufactures custom-shaped silicone and rubber parts to your requirements.
