Product Overview

Oval Fireproof Rubber Grommets combine an elongated cable entry profile with a material selection intended to address flame related requirements. The dimensional range on this page covers multiple groove outlines and widths, allowing the physical fit to be chosen for the panel before the finished assembly is evaluated for its intended use.

Define the required flame classification and exposure conditions for the selected compound, component thickness and finished installation. Evaluate that construction before changing material or color in production. The surrounding enclosure and the cables passing through it remain part of that assessment.

For mechanical selection, start with the two groove dimensions and the panel wall thickness. The 15 by 45 mm option, for example, has a 21 by 51 mm outer outline and a 12 by 42 mm interior. That leaves a different cable clearance from the groove size printed against the mounting hole. Other listed forms extend to a 50 by 100 mm groove.

Fit the grommet without trimming its walls or membrane features, since an altered part no longer has the original geometry. Avoid overfilling the passage, and support cables so they cannot pull the rubber away from the panel during normal handling. Inspect the installed entry as a complete arrangement, with the enclosure closed and the wiring secured.

Material options: Custom rubber compound and color, selected for the contact conditions and required geometry.
Hardness range: 30–90 Shore A for rubber. Balance insertion flexibility with support around the opening. Fit the grommet without trimming its walls or membrane features, since an altered part no longer has the original geometry.
