Develop holes, lips and walls around the mating parts
Match the attachment and installation method
A rubber end stopper closes the end of a matching component and leaves a removable interface where access may be needed later. Its insertion length should relate to the usable cavity, not just the outside size of the opening. A hidden shoulder can prevent an otherwise suitable plug from seating.
Measure the end profile and check the space behind it. If the stopper has a head, establish where that head should rest and whether it remains reachable after neighboring parts are assembled. Custom silicone or rubber geometry can accommodate an end that does not match a standard profile.
Press the stopper into a clean opening without forcing it past an obstruction. Inspect the edge for pinching, especially if the mating component has a thin wall. On removal, check the inserted surface for marks that reveal uneven contact. Keep the loose stopper away from grit before refitting it, and replace a part whose shape no longer matches its seat. Any required sealing performance should be evaluated in the actual end connection.
Photos illustrate structure or material appearance only. Custom silicone or rubber geometry can accommodate an end that does not match a standard profile. ETOL directly manufactures custom-shaped silicone and rubber parts to your requirements.
FIND THE RIGHT FIT
Choose a blind-hole, tapered, undercut or solid T-shaped profile, then compare its dimensions with the opening and available seating depth. Each profile has its own drawing and dimension meanings.
155 T-shaped plug sizes. Match shank diameter A, head diameter B, shank length C and head thickness D. E is the bottom blind-hole diameter; E = 0 indicates a solid shank.
