Product Overview

A flexible rubber washer can conform locally between mating components, but it still needs a defined seating area. Flexibility can make the ring easier to handle into position while also allowing it to shift, stretch, or fold if the joint does not locate it adequately.

Match the inner opening and outside profile to the available support faces. Consider how the parts approach each other during closure: a sliding or angled assembly motion can move the washer away from its intended position. Any locating feature should retain the ring without distorting its working cross-section.

Check the seated condition before completing fastening and assess the finished connection for its required water-exclusion performance. A flexible feel does not establish a waterproof rating or compatibility with every medium. On opening the joint, inspect the contact pattern and compare it around the perimeter. Local pinching or an unsupported stretched area points to an assembly or geometry issue that should be addressed before simply fitting another ring of the same material.

Material options
Silicone. Custom formulation and color for the intended contact conditions.
Hardness selection
Silicone: 20–80 Shore A. Flexibility can make the ring easier to handle into position while also allowing it to shift, stretch, or fold if the joint does not locate it adequately.
Custom dimensions
Match the inner opening and outside profile to the available support faces.
Fit & assembly
Consider how the parts approach each other during closure: a sliding or angled assembly motion can move the washer away from its intended position.
Use & inspection
On opening the joint, inspect the contact pattern and compare it around the perimeter.

Ordering this custom component

Can the shape be adjusted to my mating parts?

Yes. Show the receiving opening, contact surfaces and clearance limits. We can review the dimensions and retaining features around the intended fit.

Which details should be agreed before tooling?

Agree the critical dimensions, material, hardness, visible surfaces and sample requirements. Explain how the part is installed and which interfaces control its function.

Can a sample help define the replacement?

A sample can help explain the structure. Compare it with the assembly because wear, swelling or compression may have changed its original dimensions.

How is the quotation for this part determined?

The material, part geometry, tooling, quantity and finishing affect the quotation. Include the intended batch size and delivery destination when describing your requirements.
