Product Overview

A rubber gasket with grooves should be oriented so its molded features meet the intended mating surfaces. Grooves can affect how the part locates or deforms, depending on the selected design, so their position should not be treated as interchangeable with a flat face. Match the silicone seal profile to the full joint rather than selecting from its outside dimensions alone.

Check the groove depth, adjacent sections, and available compression. Keep narrow regions supported where the faces close. Select the formulation for the actual medium, temperature, and cleaning process, including any residue that may collect in recessed features.

Install in the specified orientation on clean surfaces without stretching the profile into alignment. Inspect the grooved regions for trapped particles before closure. During service, look for a folded ridge or local tear that corresponds to an incorrectly seated feature. Correct alignment or the mating surface before replacement instead of flattening or trimming molded details that belong to the intended contact geometry.

Material options
Silicone. Custom formulation and color for the intended contact conditions.
Hardness selection
Silicone: 20–80 Shore A. Grooves can affect how the part locates or deforms, depending on the selected design, so their position should not be treated as interchangeable with a flat face.
Custom dimensions
Match the silicone seal profile to the full joint rather than selecting from its outside dimensions alone.
Fit & assembly
Install in the specified orientation on clean surfaces without stretching the profile into alignment.
Use & inspection
Select the formulation for the actual medium, temperature, and cleaning process, including any residue that may collect in recessed features.

Ordering this custom component

Can the shape be adjusted to my mating parts?

Yes. Show the receiving opening, contact surfaces and clearance limits. We can review the dimensions and retaining features around the intended fit.

Which details should be agreed before tooling?

Agree the critical dimensions, material, hardness, visible surfaces and sample requirements. Explain how the part is installed and which interfaces control its function.

Can a sample help define the replacement?

A sample can help explain the structure. Compare it with the assembly because wear, swelling or compression may have changed its original dimensions.

How is the quotation for this part determined?

The material, part geometry, tooling, quantity and finishing affect the quotation. Include the intended batch size and delivery destination when describing your requirements.
