Silicone rubber keypads for a waterproof membrane keyboard must coordinate moving push buttons with the switching layers and enclosure sealing surfaces. Each part has a different role: the button transfers finger movement, the membrane provides the input interface, and the assembled enclosure manages the potential paths for ingress.
Define the complete layer stack before finalizing the molded button height. Spacers, supports, and panel thickness affect both resting position and available travel. The stationary areas need appropriate restraint without placing unintended pressure on a switch or distorting the flexible button web.
Assess operation after the housing is fully secured, including off-center presses and repeated release. Check environmental protection under the specified conditions for the finished assembly rather than attributing a rating to the silicone part alone. After service, preserve the membrane alignment and inspect the mating surfaces for debris, folds, or damage. A neat-looking front panel does not confirm that the hidden switching layers and sealing perimeter have returned to their original positions.
The photos show a keypad structure and material example. ETOL's factory develops custom-shaped silicone and rubber components around your control layout, coordinating button spacing, moving webs and perimeter fit with the housing and switches.
Identify key dimensions, mating surfaces and quantity
Agree the compound and manufacturing approach
Review the fit and agreed requirements in the assembly
Manufacture and check against the approved requirements
Identify temperature, contact fluids and repeated movement.
Consider hardness together with wall thickness and support.
Check access, mating dimensions and the fitting sequence.
Yes. Show the receiving opening, contact surfaces and clearance limits. We can review the dimensions and retaining features around the intended fit.
Agree the critical dimensions, material, hardness, visible surfaces and sample requirements. Explain how the part is installed and which interfaces control its function.
A sample can help explain the structure. Compare it with the assembly because wear, swelling or compression may have changed its original dimensions.
The material, part geometry, tooling, quantity and finishing affect the quotation. Include the intended batch size and delivery destination when describing your requirements.
