Selected for the contact, temperature and movement
Define the visible surfaces and intended color
Develop holes, lips and walls around the mating parts
Match the attachment and installation method
A rubber cover with a 50 mm outside diameter needs clearance around the whole covered assembly, not only a matching space at its opening. The outside dimension does not establish the internal fit or usable depth. Compare the wall profile, covered feature, and adjacent hardware before choosing the cap for installation.
For use near elevated temperature, select the compound around the actual thermal exposure and any substances contacting the cover. Check how the mating part changes during operation and whether the cover still reaches its intended seat. Leave enough accessible material for removal without gripping a thin contact edge.
Fit in line with the covered feature and inspect for a wall folded beneath the rim. Verify that the outside surface remains clear of neighboring parts through their intended movement. During care, look for internal contact damage and a permanently stretched opening. Replace a cover that no longer seats correctly rather than tightening it through improvised attachments that change the intended geometry.
Photos illustrate structure or material appearance only. A rubber cover with a 50 mm outside diameter needs clearance around the whole covered assembly, not only a matching space at its opening. ETOL directly manufactures custom-shaped silicone and rubber parts to your requirements.
FIND THE RIGHT FIT
Choose a blind-hole, tapered, undercut or solid T-shaped profile, then compare its dimensions with the opening and available seating depth. Each profile has its own drawing and dimension meanings.
155 T-shaped plug sizes. Match shank diameter A, head diameter B, shank length C and head thickness D. E is the bottom blind-hole diameter; E = 0 indicates a solid shank.
