A rubber electrical grommet provides a molded interface where wiring passes through a panel. The custom EPDM profile should match the opening and finished wall thickness, creating a rubber contact surface around the cable route. The cable passage needs to suit the actual jacket or bundle rather than a conductor-size description.
Check the fitting sequence if a connector is larger than the final bore. The rubber may need to be placed earlier in assembly, and access behind the panel should allow the retaining edge to be inspected. The compound also needs to suit the temperature and substances at the installation point.
Remove burrs, fit the grommet cleanly, and check that no wire is trapped beneath a lip. Secure the cable supports before inspecting the final seat. The grommet is a mechanical component within the electrical assembly; it does not alone establish insulation, fire, or ingress ratings. During service, inspect the entry after wiring changes and replace cut or displaced rubber before an exposed edge contacts the jacket.
Photos illustrate structure or material only. The custom EPDM profile should match the opening and finished wall thickness, creating a rubber contact surface around the cable route. ETOL directly manufactures custom-shaped silicone and rubber parts to your requirements.
