Product Overview

A custom long grommet provides an extended interface through or around an opening in a mechanical assembly. Its overall length, bore, and retaining features need to suit the receiving structure and the component passing through it. Material selection should be made for that exact arrangement, including whether a flexible rubber or another specified molding material is required.

Inspect the full available space rather than only the entrance hole. A shoulder, bracket, or change in section farther along the route can prevent the grommet from reaching its intended position. The extended body should remain aligned and should not be folded or pinched between surrounding parts during assembly.

For a sealing role, establish where the actual contact boundaries occur and evaluate them after the complete part is fitted. The entrance flange alone does not show the condition at the far end. Keep the passage clean before inserting the routed component, and prevent sharp ends from damaging its wall. Following service, inspect both ends and any retained sections before returning the assembly to its working configuration.

Material options
Custom plastic or specified rubber construction, with the profile and fitting method developed for the selected material.
Hardness range
Rubber alternatives: 30–90 Shore A. Select plastic rigidity separately; the extended body needs support through the route without folding or pinching at concealed shoulders.
Custom profile & fit
Material selection should be made for that exact arrangement, including whether a flexible rubber or another specified molding material is required.
Assembly considerations
A shoulder, bracket, or change in section farther along the route can prevent the grommet from reaching its intended position.
Design check
Inspect the full available space rather than only the entrance hole.

Ordering this custom component

Can the shape be adjusted to my mating parts?

Yes. Show the receiving opening, contact surfaces and clearance limits. We can review the dimensions and retaining features around the intended fit.

Which details should be agreed before tooling?

Agree the critical dimensions, material, hardness, visible surfaces and sample requirements. Explain how the part is installed and which interfaces control its function.

Can a sample help define the replacement?

A sample can help explain the structure. Compare it with the assembly because wear, swelling or compression may have changed its original dimensions.

How is the quotation for this part determined?

The material, part geometry, tooling, quantity and finishing affect the quotation. Include the intended batch size and delivery destination when describing your requirements.
