Neoprene rubber grommets provide a custom interface around a wire-connector route. The outer profile fits the receiving feature, while the central passage and nearby clearance need to accommodate the wiring assembly. The selected compound should suit the substances and temperatures at that location.
Check how close the connector sits to the opening. A large body or strain-relief section can prevent the rubber from seating if there is insufficient clearance. The final cable passage also may not be large enough for the connector to pass through during installation, so establish the assembly sequence early.
Fit the grommet into a clean, deburred opening and inspect the retaining area before nearby parts conceal it. Secure the cable route without loading one side of the rubber, then check the completed connector position. Material selection does not replace the need for correct groove and bore dimensions. During maintenance, inspect for cuts or displacement after connector work, and replace the part with the full matching profile if its fit has been damaged.
Photos illustrate structure or material only. The outer profile fits the receiving feature, while the central passage and nearby clearance need to accommodate the wiring assembly. ETOL directly manufactures custom-shaped silicone and rubber parts to your requirements.
