Define the visible surfaces and intended color
Develop holes, lips and walls around the mating parts
Match the attachment and installation method
A blue butyl rubber stopper combines a visible color choice with a compound and closure profile selected for the receiving opening. The taper, head and insertion depth can be developed together so the stopper meets its intended seat without disappearing into the opening. Color can help distinguish a component during assembly, but it should remain separate from the dimensional and material requirements.
When several stopper versions are used together, keep the blue identification associated with the correct opening and service conditions. Similar colors do not establish that two parts have the same seating diameter, taper, or insertion depth. The body must fit the actual feature without relying on the visible head to hide a gap.
Clean the opening before fitting and check that the stopper sits evenly at its intended depth. The chosen butyl or other specified compound needs to suit the medium and operating temperature of the finished assembly. During removal, avoid tearing the edge against surrounding hardware. Inspect the contact surface before reuse, particularly if the stopper has been stored loose where dust or grit could collect on it.
Photos illustrate structure or material appearance only. The stopper can be shaped for the receiving opening, with the selected rubber compound matched to the intended application. ETOL directly manufactures custom-shaped silicone and rubber parts to your requirements.
FIND THE RIGHT FIT
Choose a blind-hole, tapered, undercut or solid T-shaped profile, then compare its dimensions with the opening and available seating depth. Each profile has its own drawing and dimension meanings.
155 T-shaped plug sizes. Match shank diameter A, head diameter B, shank length C and head thickness D. E is the bottom blind-hole diameter; E = 0 indicates a solid shank.
