Custom butyl stoppers close bottle openings with a molded profile adapted to the container. Silicone is another material option for suitable closure designs, and each formulation needs to be selected for its own intended contact conditions. Bottle size, neck finish, and any retaining cap all contribute to the final fit.
For a medical or food contact bottle, begin with the actual contents and the processing sequence. The rubber may encounter different conditions during preparation, filling, closing, and storage. A material suited to one stage or one substance should not be assumed suitable for every bottle application. Assess the complete closure configuration with the container and the intended handling process.
Geometry remains equally important. The insertion section should reach its designed depth, the shoulder should sit evenly, and retaining hardware should act on the intended surface. Keep particles away from these areas before closing the bottle. During assembly assessment, look at the final position after retention rather than judging the stopper only while it is loosely inserted. Color and dimensions can be customized, but identification details should remain consistent with the material and closure version being used.
Photos illustrate structure or material appearance only. The insertion section should reach its designed depth, the shoulder should sit evenly, and retaining hardware should act on the intended surface. ETOL directly manufactures custom-shaped silicone and rubber parts to your requirements.
FIND THE RIGHT FIT
Choose a blind-hole, tapered, undercut or solid T-shaped profile, then compare its dimensions with the opening and available seating depth. Each profile has its own drawing and dimension meanings.
155 T-shaped plug sizes. Match shank diameter A, head diameter B, shank length C and head thickness D. E is the bottom blind-hole diameter; E = 0 indicates a solid shank.
