A 30mm silicone suction cup provides a compact contact footprint for a custom suction attachment. Its size is useful when the available surface is limited, but the entire rim still needs a suitable seating area. The surface condition and the way the cup is loaded determine whether that contact can be maintained.
Place the cup on a clean, smooth, nonporous area that extends beyond the full rim. A small cup positioned partly over an edge or surface joint cannot form the same continuous contact as one seated on an uninterrupted area. The attachment feature connected to the cup should also allow the intended load to act without unnecessarily peeling a side away.
Assess the cup in its actual arrangement, including the orientation of the surface and any movement of the attached item. The 30mm designation identifies size rather than a guaranteed holding load. If the cup is repeatedly removed, keep its contact face free of cuts and residue before refitting it. Release the edge deliberately during removal instead of sharply pulling the attached component, which can distort the cup or stress its connection.
