Match the attachment and installation method
Custom medical silicone rubber plugs can use color to identify a closure within an equipment assembly. The molded shape, hardness and size are developed for the mating opening, with the compound selected for the intended contact and processing conditions. A butyl version is a separate material configuration and needs its own suitability assessment.
Plan the color system around the way components are prepared and used. If several plugs look similar, color may help distinguish their assigned positions, but a defined size and shape remain essential. Consider whether the exposed head stays visible after any retaining component is fitted and whether handling can occur without touching the area that enters the equipment.
The closure interface includes the receiving surface, the rubber contact band and any component that holds the plug in position. Assess these together for the intended procedure. Do not substitute a similarly colored plug with a different formulation or processing history. During assembly, keep contact areas free of residue and inspect the edge that enters the opening for damage before completing the closure.
Photos illustrate structure or material appearance only. The molded shape, hardness and size are developed for the mating opening, with the compound selected for the intended contact and processing conditions. ETOL directly manufactures custom-shaped silicone and rubber parts to your requirements.
FIND THE RIGHT FIT
Choose a blind-hole, tapered, undercut or solid T-shaped profile, then compare its dimensions with the opening and available seating depth. Each profile has its own drawing and dimension meanings.
155 T-shaped plug sizes. Match shank diameter A, head diameter B, shank length C and head thickness D. E is the bottom blind-hole diameter; E = 0 indicates a solid shank.
