Chloroprene rubber feet can serve as custom contact pieces in a shelf assembly. Their shape should suit the shelf's support points and the surfaces they meet, creating a rubber interface where rigid parts would otherwise touch. The installed thickness contributes to the shelf's final position.
Review the shelf with the intended supports and contents in place. A foot placed beneath one area may settle differently from another if their loads or seating surfaces differ. The complete shelf should remain level and stable without rocking between contact points. Retention should also suit the way the shelf is removed or adjusted, so a foot is not easily displaced during ordinary maintenance.
The rubber compound should be compatible with the shelf finish and the conditions around it. Color can be selected to blend with the structure, but the working face and height remain the main fit considerations. Remove particles from the contact areas during cleaning. If a foot repeatedly moves or wears at one edge, inspect the shelf alignment and its seat before fitting another part.
