Product Overview

A protective grommet can be difficult to inspect once neighboring components hide the rear of a panel opening. Planning the assembly order gives the installer a chance to confirm full seating before access is lost. The molded rubber should engage the opening around its perimeter, with the cable resting in the intended bore rather than beneath a retaining lip.

ETOL offers custom sizes, colors and materials for this cable bushing. Select the profile for the panel thickness and cable arrangement, including the space available behind the panel. A large rear flange may require installation before a bracket or circuit assembly is fitted.

Check the grommet immediately after cable routing and again after the nearest harness support is secured. These are different stages: a correctly seated part can be pulled out of position by the final clip location. Where later inspection is limited, make the assembly sequence preserve a clear view of the retaining area. During maintenance, avoid pulling on the cable to test security; inspect the mounting and restore any displaced rubber before returning the enclosure to service.

Material options
Custom rubber compound and color, selected for the contact conditions and required geometry.
Hardness range
30–90 Shore A for rubber. Assess the grade against this fit requirement: Planning the assembly order gives the installer a chance to confirm full seating before access is lost.
Custom profile & fit

Ordering this custom component

Can the shape be adjusted to my mating parts?

Yes. Show the receiving opening, contact surfaces and clearance limits. We can review the dimensions and retaining features around the intended fit.

Which details should be agreed before tooling?

Agree the critical dimensions, material, hardness, visible surfaces and sample requirements. Explain how the part is installed and which interfaces control its function.

Can a sample help define the replacement?

A sample can help explain the structure. Compare it with the assembly because wear, swelling or compression may have changed its original dimensions.

How is the quotation for this part determined?

The material, part geometry, tooling, quantity and finishing affect the quotation. Include the intended batch size and delivery destination when describing your requirements.
