Product Overview

Conductive carbon pill rubber buttons use a moving contact element beneath the silicone keypad surface. The custom geometry should align that element with the intended circuit board contact while leaving a usable pressing area above. The visible key shape and hidden contact position need to be developed as one interface.

Check alignment after the board and enclosure are fastened. The pad can shift during closing even when it looked centered beforehand. Assess presses near the edges of the usable top to see whether the contact still reaches its intended area and returns cleanly afterward.

The flexible section needs clearance to move without rubbing against the panel or pulling a neighboring key down. Evaluate electrical input with the intended circuit rather than assigning a universal value to the carbon contact. If operation changes, distinguish between mechanical travel, contact alignment and the condition of the board surface.

Handle the underside carefully during assembly. Keep particles and cleaning residue away from the carbon elements, and avoid scraping them while positioning the sheet. Inspect the flexible regions for folds before the housing is closed. A properly located contact and unobstructed key movement are both needed for the completed button to perform its assigned function.

Ordering this custom component

Can the shape be adjusted to my mating parts?

Yes. Show the receiving opening, contact surfaces and clearance limits. We can review the dimensions and retaining features around the intended fit.

Which details should be agreed before tooling?

Agree the critical dimensions, material, hardness, visible surfaces and sample requirements. Explain how the part is installed and which interfaces control its function.

Can a sample help define the replacement?

A sample can help explain the structure. Compare it with the assembly because wear, swelling or compression may have changed its original dimensions.

How is the quotation for this part determined?

The material, part geometry, tooling, quantity and finishing affect the quotation. Include the intended batch size and delivery destination when describing your requirements.
