A square-ring seal needs its specified geometry preserved alongside the chosen material. EPDM and FKM are different compound options for this custom gasket offering. Select the formulation for the actual contact conditions, then match the ring to the seat that supports and compresses it.
Clarify the required outline and cross-section independently. The word square can describe a feature of the ring that is not captured by an overall diameter alone. The mating groove or face determines how much space is available and where the rubber must remain supported.
Fit the selected profile without twisting or stretching it to make a nearby size work. Check the inner boundary and any corners before closing the joint. The assembly's normal closing arrangement should establish compression; a different material should not be used to compensate for a dimensional mismatch. During servicing, inspect the section for cuts and lasting deformation. Keep replacement variants identified by compound and complete geometry so that a visually similar EPDM or FKM part is not substituted into a different environment.
