A flat round rubber sealing component should be matched by its section as well as its circular outline. A flat gasket and a conventional O-ring occupy a seat differently, even when their overall diameters look similar. Custom dimensions and material options allow the selected shape to follow the intended joint.

A flat seat may support a washer-like section across its width, while a groove designed for a circular section controls the rubber differently.
