NR rubber cable grommets place a natural-rubber interface around a protected wiring passage. Their custom dimensions and shape should agree with the panel and the completed cable profile. Material selection also needs to reflect the surrounding conditions, including substances that may reach the rubber during cleaning or servicing.
Inspect the route for nearby heat sources and contact with fluids before defining the formulation. The grommet's mechanical role is to separate the cable from the cutout; any specified electrical insulation requirement should be evaluated within the complete equipment design.
Match the retaining feature to the finished panel thickness so the part can settle into place without persistent stretching. Guide the wiring through without using its termination as a lever against the lip. After fastening the harness supports, inspect the passage for sideways distortion. During maintenance, check both the cable jacket and the rubber for localized wear. Preserve the chosen natural-rubber formulation and profile when replacing the component, and reassess the entry if a new cable or wrapping changes its working shape at the crossing.
