Custom rubber wire harness grommets locate a rubber interface between wiring and a panel opening. Their mechanical purpose is to keep the harness jacket away from the edge while the retaining profile engages the panel. Any required electrical insulation must be addressed through the selected compound and the complete equipment design.
The contact at the hole should be continuous where the route needs protection. A folded retaining lip or a groove mismatched to the panel thickness can leave part of the edge exposed. Establish the finished cutout and harness dimensions, then inspect the interface after the bundle is secured in its final position.
Do not use the grommet to compensate for a harness route that is pulled too tightly across the panel. The intended clips or supports should carry that routing demand. Choose the material for the local exposure, including maintenance fluids, and keep grit from being trapped against the jacket. During replacement, preserve the bore and retaining geometry as well as the compound, since the visible flange alone does not define the fitted protection.
Photos illustrate structure or material only. A folded retaining lip or a groove mismatched to the panel thickness can leave part of the edge exposed. ETOL directly manufactures custom-shaped silicone and rubber parts to your requirements.
