Silicone rubber cable grommets provide molded interfaces where vehicle wiring crosses an opening. The custom dimensions should suit the panel and harness, covering the edge while defining the passage. The final harness position matters because surrounding supports establish the force at the entry.
Check the route with connectors, branches, and nearby trim in place. A short free length can pull the grommet sideways when a harness support is secured. The opening size and finished wall thickness also need to match the retaining profile independently of the cable bore.
Fit the part into a smooth, clean cutout and inspect the retaining edges before access is restricted. Route and secure the harness, then make the final seating check. Choose the compound for the actual temperature and substances at the vehicle location. During maintenance, inspect the entry after removing trim or moving wiring, since those actions can disturb the rubber. Replace damaged components with the matching profile rather than relying on another grommet of similar visible diameter.
Photos illustrate structure or material only. A short free length can pull the grommet sideways when a harness support is secured. ETOL directly manufactures custom-shaped silicone and rubber parts to your requirements.
