A U shaped rubber grommet can be custom molded around a rectangular receiving feature. The channel profile needs to suit the edge thickness, while the rectangular outline follows the length, width, and corners. These dimensions work together to keep the rubber located around the intended area.
Check the corner radii and any change in wall thickness. A channel that seats along a straight edge may bunch or lift when it reaches a corner. The available depth and nearby hardware should allow the profile to settle without being forced out of shape.
Clean and deburr the receiving edge before installation. Seat the grommet progressively and inspect the corners and ends for incomplete engagement. Route the cable or adjoining component so it does not pull the rubber away from the channel seat. During maintenance, inspect the full outline after wiring changes and replace damaged material before an exposed edge can contact the jacket or other component passing through the opening.
Photos illustrate structure or material only. The channel profile needs to suit the edge thickness, while the rectangular outline follows the length, width, and corners. ETOL directly manufactures custom-shaped silicone and rubber parts to your requirements.
