Different types of suction cups serve different contact and mounting arrangements. The choice should begin with the surface shape, available contact area and direction of force, rather than a general preference for a larger cup. A profile that sits well on one surface can make only partial rim contact on another.
Define the mounting connection and any required body movement alongside the lip geometry. The selected rubber or silicone formulation must suit the exposure and the material being contacted. The complete vacuum or attachment arrangement also affects retention; the cup body alone does not establish a carrying capacity.
Evaluate the chosen configuration in its intended orientation and operating conditions. Check that the rim remains continuously seated without bridging texture or a seam. During maintenance, inspect both the working edge and the transition to the mounting feature. Replacing a worn cup with another type should include a fresh fit and movement assessment, since a similar diameter does not preserve the original contact profile or connection behavior.
