A vacuum suction pad needs a contact face that suits the workpiece's shape and finish. The pad should meet the intended area without bridging a seam, texture or local projection. Its mounting connection also needs to keep that face aligned as the surrounding assembly operates.
Select the silicone or other rubber formulation for the workpiece and process exposure. The complete vacuum arrangement, leakage and direction of force all influence retention, so the pad alone does not establish a handling capacity. A broad contact area cannot compensate for an unsuitable seal along its edge.
Evaluate the completed setup through the intended contact and release sequence. During maintenance, inspect for wear concentrated on one side and check whether the mounting geometry has shifted. Keep the surface clean through a compatible method and replace damaged rubber rather than changing system settings to overcome a defective contact face. A replacement should preserve the defined profile and connection depth so the pad meets the workpiece in its original position.
