Product Overview

Silicone rubber pads provide a custom flexible contact surface, with an adhesive option for fixing the pad to another part. The pad outline and the adhesive footprint should both suit the mounting area. A suitable rubber face cannot compensate for a bond placed partly over an edge, recess or contaminated surface.

Establish the final location before exposing the adhesive. Check clearances to screws, openings and removable panels, and make sure the contact area will sit where the supported item actually bears. The selected backing needs to suit the substrate and the environment in which it will remain attached. Size, material and color can be tailored to that arrangement.

Prepare the mounting surface using a method compatible with its finish and the chosen adhesive. Position the pad without stretching it, then apply the appropriate seating pressure for the backing. Avoid repeatedly lifting and repositioning the same adhesive face while trying to find the correct location.

Evaluate the assembled item on the intended contact surface, including ordinary sideways movement. Inspect separately for slipping at the rubber face and lifting at the adhesive edge, because these are different interfaces. During cleaning, keep hard debris from embedding in the pad. If a bond has peeled or collected contamination, restore the mounting area and replace the affected pad rather than pressing the exposed adhesive back into service.

Material options
Silicone. Custom formulation and color for the intended contact conditions.
Hardness selection
Silicone: 20–80 Shore A. Position the pad without stretching it, then apply the appropriate seating pressure for the backing.
Custom dimensions
Check clearances to screws, openings and removable panels, and make sure the contact area will sit where the supported item actually bears.
Fit & assembly
Evaluate the assembled item on the intended contact surface, including ordinary sideways movement.
Use & inspection
If a bond has peeled or collected contamination, restore the mounting area and replace the affected pad rather than pressing the exposed adhesive back into service.

Ordering this custom component

Can the shape be adjusted to my mating parts?

Yes. Show the receiving opening, contact surfaces and clearance limits. We can review the dimensions and retaining features around the intended fit.

Which details should be agreed before tooling?

Agree the critical dimensions, material, hardness, visible surfaces and sample requirements. Explain how the part is installed and which interfaces control its function.

Can a sample help define the replacement?

A sample can help explain the structure. Compare it with the assembly because wear, swelling or compression may have changed its original dimensions.

How is the quotation for this part determined?

The material, part geometry, tooling, quantity and finishing affect the quotation. Include the intended batch size and delivery destination when describing your requirements.
