Product Overview

Flat vacuum cups need their contact faces to reach the workpiece in the intended plane. In a fixture with several cups, small differences in mounting height can let one contact early while another remains clear. Develop the rubber profile with the complete fixture geometry.

Check the fixture with the actual workpiece held at its pickup position. Identify whether each cup can seat across its assigned area without the frame forcing an angle into the body. A flat profile should not be expected to bridge an abrupt step or make up for an incorrectly positioned mounting point.

Where the fixture has several contact positions, inspect the last cup to reach the surface as well as the first. The workpiece should not have to bend unexpectedly to complete the contact pattern. Any permitted flexibility needs to be included in the handling assessment, with the actual part supported as it will be during operation.

Include the workpiece's permitted variation when assessing the arrangement. Its surface may be nominally flat while local features change the available contact. Choose the compound for that surface and the operating conditions, then evaluate the complete holding and release cycle.

During replacement, compare the installed height rather than only the loose cup diameter. A different attachment depth can change the contact plane even when the rubber looks identical. Inspect the first operating contacts after maintenance and correct a fixture mismatch before compensating with additional force or a softer cup.

Material options
Rubber compound options, customized alongside the profile and contact conditions.
Hardness selection
Solid rubber options: 30–90 Shore A. Any permitted flexibility needs to be included in the handling assessment, with the actual part supported as it will be during operation.
Custom geometry
A different attachment depth can change the contact plane even when the rubber looks identical.
Fit evaluation
Identify whether each cup can seat across its assigned area without the frame forcing an angle into the body.
Color & OEM
Custom colors; OEM markings outside the suction contact face.

From part requirements to production

01

Define the part

Identify key dimensions, mating surfaces and quantity

02

Review material & tooling

Agree the compound and manufacturing approach

03

Evaluate the sample

Review the fit and agreed requirements in the assembly

04

Produce & inspect

Manufacture and check against the approved requirements

Review the intended assembly

Working conditions

Identify temperature, contact fluids and repeated movement.

Material and structure

Consider hardness together with wall thickness and support.

Installation

Check access, mating dimensions and the fitting sequence.

Ordering this custom component

Can the shape be adjusted to my mating parts?

Yes. Show the receiving opening, contact surfaces and clearance limits. We can review the dimensions and retaining features around the intended fit.

Which details should be agreed before tooling?

Agree the critical dimensions, material, hardness, visible surfaces and sample requirements. Explain how the part is installed and which interfaces control its function.

Can a sample help define the replacement?

A sample can help explain the structure. Compare it with the assembly because wear, swelling or compression may have changed its original dimensions.

How is the quotation for this part determined?

The material, part geometry, tooling, quantity and finishing affect the quotation. Include the intended batch size and delivery destination when describing your requirements.
